How to Get Your Dog’s Training Started:

The first step in starting your dog’s training is to schedule your initial consultation. During this one on one session you will bring your dog to meet with our lead trainer Erin Kramer. The consultation will allow Erin to meet and evaluate your dog, work with you to determine what kind of training is best and put a plan in place to meet your training goals that is in your budget. In addition, during the consultation we will begin the training, start working on your dog’s problem behaviors, send you home with important information specific to your training needs, and answer any questions you may have.

Private Training

After your initial consultation we offer hourly private training sessions at $85.00 or a discounted rate in our 3 available packages:

Group Classes

Basic Obedience Training Class and Pitbull U *Now Enrolling*

Begins February 11th-March 10th 2012 from 10:30-11:30am in Sacramento

This class will focus on dogs with little or no obedience training in how to get started in creating a polite family pet! We will work on polite leash walking, sit, down, stay, come, basic tricks and more! Your dog will learn appropriate greeting behavior and will leave class better behaved and able to handle real world distractions.

Workshops

Shy Dog Workshop

Saturday April 7th  11am-1pm at Jack Sheldon Park (South Sacramento)

Do you have a dog that is nervous in new situations? Shy when meeting new people? Needs a confidence boost? This is the workshop for you! We will be working on teaching your dog a positive association with meeting new people, teaching owners to better understand their dog behavior and read their body language, and be practicing confidence building exercises that will help bring your dog out of his or her shell. This workshop is designed to give you the techniques to put in place so when it’s over you can still be working on your dog’s shyness.

Therapy Dog Workshop

April 14th 11am-2pm

Therapy Dog work is a fun and highly rewarding job for both you and your dog. If you have a social canine and are interested in practicing for therapy dog work, this is the place for you! This workshop will teach you handling tips, give you more information about therapy dog work and testing, allow you to practice different skills that are on the test with real medical equipment, and each team will take a complete mock test to see where they are at! This is a great way to work on your dog’s socialization and obedience training while having fun. Dogs must have basic obedience skills like sit and down and cannot be aggressive.

Does your pooch need help learning good potty habits? Get training now! We offer 2 options:

-Behavior Consultation $125.00: Get step by step advice during a one on one session with our lead dog trainer Erin Kramer on how to successfully break your dog’s bad potty training habits and replace them with consistent potty training. Session is one hour long.

-Potty Training Board and Train $550: Send your dog to us to live with our trainers and get daily reinforcement for good potty habits. Not only will your dog receive potty training, he or she will get group socialization (if your dog is social with others) in our fun and doggy play yard.

Unfortunately anyone in the U.S. can call themselves a dog trainer. Just because someone says they are a trainer doesn’t make it so! All Puppy Love Dogs training is under the direction of lead trainer Erin Kramer. Erin is a certified dog trainer as well a  dog training academy instructor at 2 of the top dog trainer’s schools in North America. Erin has titled and trained dogs in a variety of dog sports and activities including frisbee, herding, AKC obedience, dock jumping, scent tracking, personal protection, french ring, schutzhund, lure coursing, and more. Erin is USDA certified to train and handle dogs for TV and film and is an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator. Want to SEE the difference? Our trainers are skilled and experienced to handle any kind of dog. We have worked with young puppies, police dogs, highly aggressive dogs, fearful dogs, toy breeds, disabled dogs, pit bulls, competitively trained dogs, service dogs and more. No matter what your dog’s issue, we can help.

There is no one method that we use. Each dog and owner is different and it’s ESSENTIAL that dog trainers take that into consideration and be flexible to meet your needs. Puppy Love Dogs trainers love to use praise, play and train methods whenever possible. We always strive to help owner’s understand the world from their dog’s point of view and be clear and consistent in the training.  Our trainers do not bribe dogs to listen but utilize a combination of rewards, body language, and correction as needed.

If you aren’t sure what type of training your dog needs, no problem. Send us a brief email with your training goals and our staff will make recommendations and help you understand your options.

Every dog, no matter what age or breed, is trainable! Sometimes our toughest task as trainers is “training” you the owner! Even if you have worked with another trainer without success, our training is different. Give us one session and we’ll show you just how effective our training is!

Then you’ve come to the right place. Our trainers are skilled and knowledgeable in positive socialization to help fearful dogs gently overcome their fears and build confidence as well as to help aggressive dogs learn good doggy manners. Overly fearful or aggressive dogs are not able to attend group class but can certainly benefit from private sessions or board and training.

There is no simple answer here. This largely depends on your training goals, your dog’s current level of training, what issues your dog has, and how much practice you do at home! During our initial private consultation, your trainer will be able to give you a much better answer after meeting you and your dog and determining your training goals!
